The OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital Family Medicine Residency program is a three-year, ACGME-accredited program that accepts four residents each year. The program offers one-to-one training within a close-knit culture and provides a comprehensive curriculum that covers a wide range of family medicine experiences, including rural and urban settings.
Residents in the program will have the opportunity to practice in community-based hospitals, urban medical centers, and nationally renowned academic and osteopathic healthcare systems. The curriculum includes training in prenatal, pediatric, and geriatric care, as well as emergency medicine, surgery, ICU, subspecialty medicine, and fellowship preparation.
Faculty at O'Bleness Hospital work closely with residents to ensure mastery of Osteopathic Manipulative medicine and clinic-based procedures. Residents will gain increasing responsibility and valuable experience in various services like obstetrics and gynecology, sports medicine, hospital medicine, and addiction medicine.
Graduates of the program have gone on to succeed in rural, urban, solo, and group family medicine practice, as well as in fellowship-trained specialties and subspecialties. Post-residency training options include a year of osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal medicine residency and a diabetes fellowship for primary care providers.
The program offers opportunities for pediatric training, sports medicine OMM, community involvement, and rotations at various affiliated locations. Residents also have access to research support through the OhioHealth Institute of Research and Innovation.
