Additionally, residents have the option to pursue elective rotations outside of the medical center, offering further exposure to different outpatient and inpatient dermatologic conditions. Training includes opportunities to participate in complex medical dermatology, including psoriasis and HIV dermatology clinics, as well as other specialized clinics focusing on hidradenitis suppurativa and cutaneous lymphoma.

Research Opportunities

Research is a critical component of the residency. Each resident is expected to complete three scholarly projects during their training. Faculty guidance is available for a variety of research formats, including case reports and clinical trials, allowing residents to engage in opportunities that most align with their interests and career goals.

Application Process and Requirements

The recruitment process adheres to the principles of equal opportunity and non-discrimination. Applicants to the Ohio State University Dermatology Program must meet specific eligibility criteria, including:

An application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
Two to three letters of recommendation
Submission of an application within five years of graduating from medical school
A passing score on USMLE Steps 1 and 2
