The Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Residency Training Program at Stanford University aims to train and mentor future local and global leaders in advancing women's health across all stages of life.

The program's mission is to develop competent, compassionate, and inquisitive obstetrician-gynecologists who will become leaders in clinical care, education, and research in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as its subspecialties.

Stanford's OB/GYN residency program is characterized by clinical excellence, intellectual curiosity, and collegial resilience. They emphasize supporting and affirming the diverse identities, backgrounds, and perspectives of their residents to promote equity and community.

Clinical training at Stanford includes care for a diverse patient population and exposure to various subspecialties like Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecology Oncology, and Reproductive Endocrinology. The program offers academic opportunities and research mentorship across various sub-specialties and collaboratively with other departments at Stanford.

Residents have the chance to pursue unique opportunities such as the longitudinal Stanford Medicine LEAD program and protected research time. Post-residency, around half of the graduates pursue subspecialty training, while the other half enter generalist practice with opportunities in private, community, and academic settings.
