Overview of the Still OPTI ONMM3 Residency Program

The Still OPTI Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM3) residency program is a specialized training initiative designed to cultivate highly skilled osteopathic physicians proficient in both clinical practice and academic roles within the field of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. With its core training sites located at Sky Ridge Medical Center, The Medical Center of Aurora, and the Rocky Vista Health Center, the program offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient experiences, focusing on patient-centered care and evidence-based practices.

After completing a residency in an approved specialty, participants will engage in structured training that aligns with the standards set by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), which currently holds continued accreditation for the program.

Curriculum and Training

The curriculum for the ONMM3 residency program is crafted to advance expertise in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. The training incorporates rigorous clinical experience, supplemented by academic instruction at the Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Parker, Colorado.

Rotations

Residents will participate in a variety of rotations that encompass different facets of healthcare. Rotations occur at:

• Sky Ridge Medical Center: A full-service hospital with 284 beds in Lone Tree, Colorado.
• The Medical Center of Aurora: A comprehensive facility providing 269 beds in Aurora, Colorado.
• Rocky Vista Health Center: Positioned in Parker, Colorado, offering a range of services, notably in sports and osteopathic manipulative medicine.

This exposure ensures residents gain practical experience across multiple clinical settings, promoting a well-rounded educational journey.

Application Process

Prospective applicants must have already completed a residency in an ACGME-approved specialty to be considered for the ONMM3 program. The application process mandates direct submission to the Program Director and Coordinator via email, as the program does not partake in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

Applications are accepted from July 1 through May 1, with interviews typically conducted between August 1 and May 30 each year. Required application materials include:

• Current Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Letter of Interest
• Three letters of recommendation (with at least one from the current program director)
• COMLEX scores for levels 1, 2, and 3

Competitiveness and Special Requirements

The Still OPTI ONMM3 program is considered to be highly competitive, with particular focus on applicants who have demonstrated excellence in their previous training. Notably, the program has a specific stance on accepting only graduates from ACGME-accredited programs and currently does not accommodate International Medical Graduates (IMGs) or sponsor visas.
