The University at Buffalo Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program provides a five-year comprehensive education in medical and surgical management of patients with disorders affecting the ears, upper respiratory and upper alimentary system. Residents progress through increasing levels of responsibility and are expected to attain competency in various areas. The Chief Resident year involves primary surgical roles with faculty supervision.
The curriculum covers all aspects of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, including structured research experiences and diverse clinical settings at 4 hospital sites. The program offers a rich operative experience, a structured didactic program, and outpatient management opportunities throughout residency. Residents have input on their off-service rotations and benefit from supportive mentoring and a cohesive team environment.
