University of Colorado Program

The University of Colorado Urology Residency Training Program is a fully-accredited ACGME five-year program with a resident complement of three residents per year. Directed by Dr. Granville Lloyd and associate directed by Dr. Dan Wood, the program aims to provide the best possible resident training in urology.

Key aspects of the program include: - Offering a variety of surgical experiences in general urology and subspecialties such as urologic cancer, female urology, pediatric urology, and more. - Providing ambulatory experience in general urology and various urologic subspecialties. - Conducting educational and research conferences to enhance training, covering urologic physiology, pathology, imaging, morbidity and mortality conferences, pathology reviews, and more.

Residents rotate through multiple institutions to gain diverse case exposure. They also participate in research rotations and have opportunities to present at scientific meetings or publish in peer-reviewed journals. The program encourages residents to progress with supervision based on specific criteria and urology milestones.

Additionally, the program has a specialized PGY-1 training opportunity for individuals who did not match into urology initially. This program is designed to help candidates gain additional clinical experience and reapply to the urology match successfully.
