The University of Louisville Neurology Residency program is an ACGME accredited training program under the directorship of Dr. Adriana E. Palade since September 2016. The program has recently gained ACGME approval for an increased resident complement, growing from 4 to 6 residents per year starting July 2023. They will be accepting applications for 6 PGY-1 positions to start July 1, 2024, with virtual interviews scheduled from November 2023 to January 2024.
Applicants must be registered with NRMP to participate in the 2024 NRMP Match. The program only uses the J1 Visa for all PGY levels. Foreign Medical Graduates must have current ECFMG certification and at least one Letter of Recommendation from US Clinical Experience. USMLE scores must be a minimum of 210 or above, passed on the first attempt; COMLEX scores must be 450 or above, passed on the first attempt.
The clinical experience in the program includes inpatient and outpatient general and subspecialty neurology, child neurology, neurodiagnostics, neuroradiology, and psychiatry. Residents have the opportunity to tailor their elective experiences to their individual interests. The program offers research opportunities in various fields, encouraging residents to participate in research activities and present their work at national meetings.
