The University of Louisville School of Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program offers six categorical positions each year. They do not offer preliminary or part-time positions. The program participates in the National Ranking Matching Program (NRMP), and all applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS).
Applicant qualifications include the requirement that all applicants must have graduated medical school within the past 5 years by the start of the next academic year. For USMLE requirements, to be competitive, applicants need a PASS score on USMLE Step I and a score of 225 and above on USMLE Step II CK. For osteopathic applicants, USMLE scores are preferred, but not required, with a score of 625 and above on both COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2.
International medical graduates must have at least 6 months of direct patient care experience in the US healthcare system, ECFMG certification, and must have graduated from medical school within the past 5 years. The program only sponsors J1 visas.
The application deadline was October 1, 2023. Initial interview invitations were extended on October 24th and 25th, 2023. Additional interviews will be offered if openings are identified post-initial invitations. All applicants will be notified of their final status by December 2, 2023. Interviews are conducted virtually, and to accommodate applicants from different time zones, morning and afternoon sessions are scheduled.
