Carle Foundation Hospital Program

The Carle Foundation Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is a well-structured training program located in Urbana, Illinois, affiliated with a large community hospital and a university. Program Goals and Objectives

Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is meticulously designed and progressive, with specific rotations outlined for each year of residency:

PGY-1

The first-year experience focuses on building foundational skills with rotations including:

• Internal Medicine
• Gynecology (two rotations)
• Emergency Night Float
• Obstetrics (three rotations)
• Ultrasound, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and Outpatient Gynecology

PGY-2

During the second year, the curriculum emphasizes advanced obstetrics management, surgical exposure, and ICU experience, including:

• Medical ICU
• Gynecology (two rotations)
• Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Urogynecology (two rotations)
• Gynecologic Oncology

PGY-3

The third year targets surgical and nonsurgical gynecologic treatments along with specialty care, featuring:

• Obstetrics (two rotations)
• Gynecologic Oncology (two rotations)
• Elective rotations for personalized training

PGY-4

The final year allows residents to refine their surgical and leadership skills, including:

• Chief resident responsibilities
• Further Obstetrics and Gynecology rotations

Research and Scholarly Activity

The program welcomes applications from both U.S. and international medical graduates. For international applicants, only J1 visa sponsorship is provided. A complete application includes:
