Residents will have access to experienced subspecialist faculty and the program is situated in a culturally diverse college town in Illinois.
The program is ACGME approved since 2021, with the first cohort of residents starting in July 2022. The program aims to train the next generation of leaders in the field and offers exposure to various specialty and subspecialty areas in obstetrics and gynecology.
The curriculum is structured into four years with a focus on clinical skills, diagnostic techniques, management of clinical problems, communication skills, research, and advocacy for women's health. Residents will experience rotations in different areas including obstetrics, gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, and more.
Application to the program must be completed through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). They accept applications from both U.S. and international medical school graduates (J1 visas only for international applicants). The application criteria include a CV, Medical Student Performance Evaluation, at least three letters of recommendation, a personal statement, medical school transcript, USMLE scores for Steps 1 and 2, and other requirements. Excellent verbal and written English skills are necessary.
