The General Surgery Residency Program at Broward Health is a comprehensive five-year training program designed to emphasize experiential learning aimed at developing each resident's knowledge of the core competencies of surgical care. With a consortium of four teaching hospitals and over 40,000 surgical cases performed annually, residents gain valuable clinical experience. For those interested in pursuing fellowship training after residency, protected research time is provided during the five-year curriculum to enhance qualifications. The program aims to prepare residents to become competent surgeons capable of independent practice.
