Clinical Experience

The program incorporates a variety of core and specialty rotations, including General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Head and Neck Surgery, Acute Care Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery and Robotics, Bariatric Surgery, Endoscopy, Surgical Critical Care, Trauma, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Transplantation, Vascular Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, and experiences in the Emergency Department.
Curriculum Structure
The residency curriculum is robust and includes a combination of weekly, monthly, and quarterly didactic sessions. This encompasses comprehensive lectures in both basic and clinical sciences, journal clubs to promote critical thinking, morbidity and mortality conferences to engage in reflective practice, and Grand Rounds which gather the medical community for knowledge sharing. Additionally, simulation laboratory skills training is integrated into the program to foster individual growth while prioritizing resident wellness and retention of knowledge.
