Corewell Health East (Dearborn & Taylor) Program

Corewell Health East (Dearborn & Taylor) offers a comprehensive Internal Medicine Residency program in affiliation with Wayne State University School of Medicine. The program, which has been accredited by the ACGME since 1969, accepts 10 categorical and 3 preliminary year residents each year through the NRMP. The residency program aims to provide a well-rounded education with various sub-specialty rotations and exposure to unusual cases for clinical research.

Application to the program is solely through ERAS, and they fully participate in the NRMP match. They do not consider applicants outside of the NRMP system, nor do they offer pre-match or outside match contracts. The program does not discriminate based on various personal attributes when considering candidates.

Exceptions to eligibility criteria may be considered under the sponsorship of a current Beaumont Internal Medicine Residency Assistant Director, Associate Director, or Program Director. The program director assesses candidates based on various attributes if granted an interview, including medical school training, USMLE scores, letters of recommendation, transcripts, research experience, community involvement, and volunteer commitments.

Graduates of the program have pursued various career pathways, including practicing general internal medicine, joining attending staff, and pursuing subspecialty training. They have gone on to join accredited fellowship programs both within and outside the institution.
