The Transitional Year program at Trinity Health Oakland/Wayne State University Program is designed to provide a comprehensive graduate medical education experience in various clinical disciplines to assist medical school graduates in preparing for future medical training. Application to the Transitional Year program requires graduates of accredited MD or DO medical schools within the last three years, with preferred USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 scores of 220 or above on the first attempt. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, green card holders, permanent residents, or eligible for ECFMG visa sponsorship. Interviews are conducted virtually via Zoom, and all communication regarding applications must go through ERAS. The program provides six residency positions filled through the NRMP.
