Competitiveness and Application Requirements

The REI Fellowship Program is highly competitive due to its single fellow position per year and the comprehensive training it provides. Candidates must have completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology accredited by the ACGME in order to apply. It is essential for applicants to be either U.S. citizens or permanent residents, as the program does not accept H1B Visa holders due to funding constraints.

Applicants are required to submit a complete application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), including:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • A personal statement encompassing career goals
  • Official medical school transcript
  • At least three recommendation letters from residency and research mentors
  • A recent photograph
  • USMLE transcript
  • CREOG scores (to be emailed separately)

Interviews for the program are conducted virtually and are by invitation only. Important dates in the application timeline include a May 1 application deadline, with interviews scheduled for August to September.

Visa Sponsorship

The program offers sponsorship for certain visa types. However, it currently only accepts applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applications from H1B Visa holders are not admissible, making it crucial for prospective fellows to be eligible under these criteria before applying.
