Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Program

The Dermatology Residency Program at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) is a comprehensive four-year program that includes exposure to clinical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Residents are trained in various diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for dermatologic conditions across different age groups. The program emphasizes supervised direct patient care, surgical techniques, and extensive coding and billing practices.

Residents participate in weekly didactics, dermatopathology slides, clinical images review, and board review sessions. They also attend monthly journal clubs, histopathology sessions, and grand rounds at Emory University Department of Dermatology. Additionally, residents engage in monthly business meetings focused on the operational aspects of a dermatology practice.

There are opportunities for residents to attend various courses, seminars, and meetings, such as the AOCD and AAD annual meetings, as well as elective time to enhance their knowledge in pediatric dermatology and with general dermatologists. Residents are encouraged to engage in scientific projects, contribute to dermatologic articles, and present at local and national meetings.

The program at PCOM North Fulton emphasizes growth and success through dedicated teaching faculty. Residents receive training in dermatopathology, dermatologic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and cosmetic dermatology.
