4Curriculum and Rotations

- PGY-1: Residents spend three months in obstetrics, three months in the clinic, and three months in gynecology, along with rotations in family medicine, ICU, and night float.
- PGY-2: The focus is on obstetrics (3 months), maternal-fetal medicine (3 months), and gynecology (3 months), with exposure to night float and reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI).
- PGY-3: This year includes two months in obstetrics and a mix of rotations in clinic, gynecology, urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, and night float.
- PGY-4: Residents will have additional responsibilities in obstetrics (2 months), clinic (2 months), and gynecology (2 months), along with electives.
Training Environment
Wellstar Kennestone is equipped with a state-of-the-art simulation center that allows residents to practice various surgical techniques, enhancing their procedural skills. Residents also have continuity clinic experiences to manage their own patient panel over the course of the residency, enabling them to establish ongoing relationships with patients.
