The academic structure of the residency program consists of 13 four-week blocks spanning three postgraduate years. Each year is designed to provide exposure to various internal medicine specialties and inpatient care:

• Postgraduate Year 1: Inpatient Medicine, Critical Care, Night Float, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, General Internal Medicine-Outpatient, Neurology, Subspecialty Ambulatory Care, Continuity Clinic.
