St Elizabeth Medical Center Program

The St. Elizabeth Medical Center Family Medicine Residency program is based in Northern Kentucky near downtown Cincinnati. The program offers a 10-10-10 unopposed structure and provides training across various hospitals and outpatient facilities. Residents have the opportunity to work at the Edgewood campus, which has more than 500 beds, including specialized units like MICU, SICU, CICU, Family Birth Place, and a Level III NICU staffed by Cincinnati Children's Hospital Neonatologists.

Application requirements for the program include submitting medical school transcripts, dean's letter, USMLE or COMLEX scores (with passing each test in fewer than two attempts), a personal statement, at least two letters of recommendation (one from US-based clinical experience), and ECFMG certification if applicable. The program considers J-1 Visas on a case-by-case basis.

The Family Practice Center serves as the residency’s ambulatory practice and is conveniently located at the hospital’s Edgewood campus. The program offers a structured curriculum with rotations in various specialties including ambulatory continuity care, emergency medicine, cardiology, surgery, and more. Residents also benefit from didactic sessions, including FOCUS weekly year group-specific sessions, noon conferences, and continuous quality improvement projects.

The program provides competitive salaries for residents, with PGY 1 starting at $63,000, PGY 2 at $65,000, and PGY 3 at $67,500.
