The St Vincent Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency program is a three-year residency emphasizing comprehensive training in ambulatory and inpatient general internal medicine and its sub-specialties. Residents are prepared for academic or community-based internal medicine practice or sub-specialty training. The program aims to instill patient-centered care, community and population health concepts, and develop leadership skills. The program has continued accreditation for three years.
Application requirements for the program include an official Dean’s Letter, letters of recommendation, a personal statement, CV, medical school transcript, and USMLE or COMLEX test scores. Candidates with test failures are not eligible. Basic eligibility criteria include U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, MD or DO degree within the last five years, and completion of the ERAS application. IMG applicants must meet additional requirements, including U.S. healthcare experience and valid ECFMG certification.
Visa sponsorship is evaluated on a case-by-case basis for J-1 Visa and H-1B Visa. The program participates in the Match Program and uses ERAS for applications. The deadline to apply for the academic year 2024-2025 is December 15, 2024. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom due to COVID-19.
The program offers a structured curriculum with teaching conferences, morning reports, X-ray and Cardiology conferences, Journal Club, and M&M Conferences.
