Competitiveness and Applicant Requirements

The program is deemed competitive, as it attracts a diverse pool of applicants, including those from DO and IMG backgrounds. Candidates are required to meet specific prerequisites, including graduation from medical school within five years of the anticipated enrollment date. Additionally, applicants must pass USMLE Step 1 on the first attempt, achieve a minimum score of 220 on USMLE Step 2, or pass COMLEX Level 1 and 2 also on the first attempt, with COMLEX Level 2 requiring a score of 500 for consideration of an interview.

Application Components

Applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and should include: official medical school transcripts, USMLE or COMLEX test transcripts, a Dean’s letter, two letters of recommendation, a curriculum vitae, and a personal statement. For International Medical Graduates (IMGs), a valid ECFMG certificate is also necessary.

Moreover, the interview process typically spans from mid-November through mid-December, where candidates deemed appropriate will meet with the Program Director and selected faculty for a comprehensive interview experience.
