Unity Health-White County Medical Center Transitional Year Residency Program offers a one-year ACGME-accredited program aimed at preparing residents for further training. The program focuses on providing a wide variety of experiences in general medical patients, both inpatient and outpatient settings. Residents have the opportunity to work with dedicated faculty and engage in various didactics, simulation training, and asynchronous education sessions.

During the PGY-1 year, the majority of rotations are concentrated on general internal medicine at Unity Health White County Medical Center. In the PGY-2 year, residents have the chance to explore subspecialty rotations, interspersed with core inpatient rotations. The PGY-3 year focuses on consolidating the resident's medical education by applying it in real-world practice.

The program supports resident research projects and encourages scholarly activities. They accept applicants up to 16 residents each year, preferably within two years of their medical school graduation with specific qualifications regarding USMLE or COMLEX scores, letters of recommendation, and more. Unity Health does not sponsor visas for applicants.

Notably, the program is currently in a period of self-study and will not accept applications for the 2024-2025 academic year. For more information, it is advised to reach out directly to the program for further details.
