The Transitional Year Residency Program at Peconic Bay Medical Center, sponsored by Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, offers 12 highly competitive PGY-1 positions per year. Both MD and DO applicants can apply via ERAS and are selected via the NRMP. The residency program provides a unique training environment focused on establishing a strong clinical foundation with ample elective time for personalizing training. Residents have successfully matched into various specialties across the country, including Anesthesiology, PM&R, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, and more.
The program includes rotations in Ambulatory Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Inpatient Medicine, Night Float, and various electives. Residents also have the option to access elective rotations at other Northwell Hospitals upon request. The program aims to guide residents towards clinical excellence, humanism, and leadership in their future careers.
