The MetroHealth System/Case Western Reserve University Family Medicine Residency Program is committed to excellence in resident education, faculty growth, and high-quality patient care for all. The program focuses on training residents who are dedicated to high-quality underserved primary care. The curriculum is designed to create well-rounded family medicine providers who serve diverse and underserved populations. Residents at MetroHealth receive training in evidence-based medicine, team-based care, leadership, and professionalism.

Application requirements for the program include the submission of an ERAS application, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation (at least one from a Family Medicine physician), dean's letter, personal statement, medical school transcript, medical student performance evaluation, USMLE Steps 1 and 2 CK, COMLEX Levels 1 and 2 PE. Additionally, applicants must have graduated from medical school within the last three years.

The program offers a variety of clinical experiences including family medicine inpatient service, pediatrics, obstetrics, cardiology, neurology, community medicine, emergency adult medicine, practice management, and various elective rotations. Residents have the opportunity to engage in scholarly activity and quality improvement projects.

The MetroHealth Family Medicine Residency program is supportive of residents in their journey towards becoming well-rounded family physicians prepared to address the healthcare needs of diverse communities.
