STEP 220

The Interventional Radiology Residency Program at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is an ACGME accredited program that offers two integrated and two independent positions per year. The IR Integrated program is primarily based at Tampa General Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center that performs a wide range of interventional radiology procedures. Additionally, residents have the opportunity to train at Moffitt Cancer Center and the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System. The program is a hybrid private practice/academic group, providing residents the benefits of both settings.

Residents undergo comprehensive training in procedural skills, clinical evaluation, and inpatient care. They have the chance to gain experience in various areas of interventional radiology, including neuro-interventional radiology. The program emphasizes research involvement, with residents expected to participate in at least one research study and present findings at national conferences. Applications are accepted through ERAS, with integrated residency interviews typically held from October to January and independent residency interviews from December to February.

The Department of Radiology at USF Health follows NRMP guidelines for programs participating in the match. Additional information on graduate medical education at USF, including the Housestaff Handbook and a sample contract, can be found on the USF Housestaff website.
