Westchester Medical Center Program

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Westchester Medical Center is a unique and highly competitive academic program. Residents have the opportunity to provide clinical care at both Westchester Medical Center and New York City Health and Hospitals/Metropolitan, offering a diverse clinical experience in urban, suburban, and rural settings.

The program emphasizes comprehensive clinical training in general obstetrics and gynecology, as well as subspecialty services like gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, maternal fetal medicine, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and more. Residents focus on caring for under-represented minorities and high-risk populations, with a mission centered on the Center for Women's Health Equity.

Faculty members are diverse, experienced, and committed to providing a supportive learning environment. Residents participate in didactic sessions, simulation training, research opportunities, and clinical leadership curriculum. The program offers a robust educational curriculum following the CREOG objectives.

Residents rotate between Westchester Medical Center and Metropolitan Hospital, gaining exposure to diverse patient populations and all subspecialties within OB/GYN. The program is supportive of ACGME work hour regulations, resident wellness, and provides vacation time and personal days.
