This integration allows transitional year residents to collaborate with individuals from other ACGME-accredited programs including internal medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery, thus enriching their clinical training experience.

Application Requirements

Specific application requirements are in place for candidates aspiring to join the transitional year program. Applications are exclusively accepted through ERAS until the first week of November, with interviews typically conducted from late October to early January. Applicants must have successfully passed USMLE Step 1 and Step 2, and must submit three letters of recommendation alongside a Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) letter from their medical school. International medical graduates should have graduated from medical school no more than three years prior to the program start and must possess U.S. work authorization or be eligible for J-1 visa status.
