The Anesthesiology Residency Program at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, offers two program tracks for the NRMP Match. They have 23 positions available, with 15 positions in the Categorical track and 8 positions in the Advanced track. The Categorical track is a four-year program while the Advanced track is a three-year specialty program that requires securing a first-year position at another residency program.
To apply, applicants should check both tracks in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The program requires applicants to have strong letters of recommendation, third-year Core Clerkship grades, the dean's letter, a personal statement, USMLE scores, and other extracurricular activities. While Step 2 and the Clinical Skills assessment are not required before the interview, applicants must pass Steps 1 and 2 before starting residency training.
Interview invitations will be sent out after a holistic review of applications. Interviews, taking place virtually due to COVID-19, will include conversations with faculty and a virtual tour with a chief resident. The program also offers a "Second Look" opportunity post-interviews and submission of the rank list.
