The curriculum includes a structured schedule comprising blocks for rotations in various disciplines. Some key components of the curriculum are:

  • Inpatient Medicine/Wards – 4 blocks
  • Geriatrics-Hospice/Palliative Care – 1 block
  • ICU – 1 block
  • Elective Experiences – 3.5 blocks
  • Ambulatory Experiences – 2 blocks
  • Night Float-Inpatient Medicine/Wards – 1 block

Residents also receive training in specialty areas such as Cardiology, Nephrology, and Emergency Medicine, thereby garnering comprehensive exposure to a variety of patient care settings and pathologies. Additionally, personalized educational experiences and electives are available, with up to six months dedicated to individualized tracks tailored to future career aspirations

Applicants to the McLaren Bay Internal Medicine Residency must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and participate in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). A few unique requirements to note include:

  • Pass/Fail USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CS; COMLEX scores should be a minimum of 225 for Step 1 and 480 for Step 2 on the first attempt
