The Parkview Internal Medicine Residency Program offers a comprehensive curriculum aimed at developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to evaluate, diagnose, and manage internal medicine patients. The program includes traditional hospital and ambulatory rotations, as well as experiences in critical care, emergency medicine, and various subspecialty fields. Elective rotations allow residents to further expand their knowledge. There is a focus on academic medicine with opportunities for research and resident-led didactics.
Residents will have the opportunity to train across two Parkview facilities: Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, IN, and Parkview Regional Medical Center. These facilities offer a range of services and provide a diverse learning experience.
For application to the program, applicants must complete their application through ERAS. Invited applicants meeting the program's selection criteria will undergo interviews between October and January. Results for USMLE Step 2 or COMLEX Level 2 must be provided before the NRMP rank list deadline in mid-February. Matched applicants will begin orientation in mid-June.
The program has dedicated faculty members focusing on various aspects of internal medicine and offers a team-based learning environment with opportunities to choose electives based on career interests and goals.
