Trinity Health Muskegon Program

The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Trinity Health Muskegon, Graduate Medical Education, offers a comprehensive training experience that includes a wide range of pathology, hands-on residency with a preceptor model, and access to a new facility with specialized services. The program has fellowship opportunities in Geriatrics, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Allergy/Immunology, Cardiology, and Endocrinology.

The program began in July 2014 and receives up to seven interns each year. The curriculum covers a variety of internal medicine cases and services, with residents actively involved in patient care through the hospitalist service. There's an emphasis on one-to-one education from attending physicians, and residents gain experience in various clinical settings from admission to patient follow-up.

Applicants are encouraged to submit audition rotation requests through VSAS beginning in February, and residency applications are accepted through ERAS. Preference is given to recent medical graduates within the last three years and those with passing scores on both Step 1 and Step 2 exams.

The curriculum includes interactive learning environments such as morning reports, teaching rounds, didactic sessions, specialty speakers, procedural skills labs, and outpatient clinic experience. Residents have the opportunity to engage in monthly conferences, journal clubs, and hands-on manipulative instruction.
