• Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital: Offers specialized training in pediatric surgery with the region's only 24/7 pediatric orthopedic emergency department.

Application Requirements

Prospective candidates must complete a five-year clinical program, with six categorical and one non-designated preliminary PGY-1 position available annually. Key application details include:

• Applications via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
• Eligibility for a North Carolina medical license, ECFMG certificate for international applicants.
• A passing score on USMLE Step 1 is mandatory prior to an interview offer.
• Document requirements include a curriculum vitae, personal statement, medical school transcript, dean's letter, and three letters of recommendation.

Each year, the program receives over 1,600 applications and offers interviews to about 80-90 applicants, reinforcing its competitive nature.
