The Transitional Year Residency Program at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria is based at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL, operating under the Internal Medicine Residency Program. The faculty includes experts from various departments, providing a diverse educational experience. This program is a one-year clinical base year designed to prepare future specialists for advanced residencies in fields such as Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Radiology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, and others.

For international applicants, U.S. clinical experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Recent clinical experience is required, and applicants should have graduated from medical school within the last 5 years or finished residency training within the last 2 years. ECFMG certification is required by June 1, and the program does not sponsor visas.
