Talk to:

  • Recent alumni (1–3 years out).
  • Fellows at other institutions who trained there.
  • Faculty at your medical school who know the reputation of the program.

Straight question: “Have they had any ACGME trouble recently? Would you send your own kid there?”

You will be surprised how candid seasoned faculty are when you ask that last part.
